Dealing with Anger

Every day millions of people become angry. Whether directed inwardly or outwardly towards others, anger can be felt and expressed as genuine anger, or it can take on many forms and mask a variety of emotions.

Participants in this workshop will learn theory, techniques and approaches for effectively managing their own angry feelings and behaviours.  In addition we will provide you with tools for responding to the anger of others including defusing, asserting, setting limits and disengaging.  When combined with your willingness and commitment to put these tools into action, you will be able to cope more effectively and constructively with angry feelings and angry people.

The objectives of this 2 day workshop are to have participants:

  • Identify your own anger beliefs, patterns and reactions.
  • Learn the dynamics of anger and angry behaviour.
  • Learn how to self-manage your own anger.
  • Learn how to express your own anger constructively.
  • Learn processes and skills to defuse and buy-out of power struggles with angry and defensive individuals.
  • Learn interpersonal skills to confront and limit-set destructive angry behaviour.
  • Learn skills to disengage from destructive angry encounters.
